Subject Matter Expert: J. Kele Murdin PT., MPT, GCS, GTCCS
Ms. Murdin received her Master’s in Physical Therapy from Wichita State University in 2000. She is a board-certified clinical specialist in geriatric physical therapy. In 2016, she received the credential of Geriatric Trained and Certified Clinical Specialist from Great Seminars and Books. She is active as a State Advocate for the APTA Geriatric Section and serves as the current chair of the Geriatric Special Interest Group of APTA Washington State. In 2019 she received “Physical Therapist of the Year Award” from the APTA Washington State Chapter and was selected as the Centennial Scholar from the same chapter. Ms. Murdin’s passion for her profession is mirrored by a passion for cycling, laughter, and her family.
Subject Matter Expert: Tiffany Shubert, PT, PhD
Dr. Shubert has a Master’s in Physical Therapy from UC San Francisco/San Francisco State University and a PhD in Human Movement Science from UNC Chapel Hill. She is a licensed physical therapist with over 20 years of clinical experience. She has taught in pre and post-professional DPT programs and is a funded researcher with 35 peer-reviewed publications. The majority of her research has focused on evidence-based fall risk management and the dissemination and implementation of the Otago Exercise Program.
Writer: Wendy Phillips, PT, BSPT
Wendy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University in Biology, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Florida A&M University. She has more than 25 years of experience working as a Physical Therapist in multiple care settings, including acute care, inpatient rehab, independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and outpatient orthopedics. Wendy has a strong manual therapy background and has completed additional training in McConnell taping, geriatric care, McKenzie MDT, Maitland Mobilizations for the joints and spine. She is most passionate about using her manual skills to improve mobility and reduce pain in individuals of all ages. As a Lead Physical Therapy writer for Relias, Wendy enjoys being able to combine her clinical knowledge with her interest in research and staying up-to-date with changes and advances in the field of rehabilitation.
