Pulmonary Function Tests: Application to the Plan of Care

Understanding pulmonary function tests (PFTs) and how to interpret the values can help guide a clinician’s evaluation and treatment plan. After completing this course, learners will be able to interpret spirometry and lung volumes to better understand the physiology of underlying chronic lung diseases. Learners will also relate PFT results to additional assessment findings for clinical decision-making. Application to qualification for pulmonary rehabilitation and respiratory services is discussed.

The goal of this course is to teach respiratory therapists, physical therapists, and occupational therapists how to interpret PFTs.
