Case Study: Cervical Spine Pain in an Older Adult

This case study guides learners through the evaluation and treatment of an older adult with neck pain. Discussion of differential diagnoses is included along with considerations of red flag conditions. Guidance is provided for management, contraindications and precautions to treatment, and the impact of psychosocial concerns on the plan of care. A downloadable resource is available to support best practices in evaluation.

The goal of this course is to provide physical therapy professionals with an example of appropriate evaluation and treatment strategies for an older adult with cervical spine pathology.
