Exercise Prescription for Medically Complex Patients

Therapists treating patients with multiple co-morbidities are often challenged to prescribe the correct intensity of interventions and home exercise programs to achieve optimal outcomes. This course is for learners who have a foundational knowledge of the pathophysiology of common co-morbidities. It will review how to use this information during evaluation and treatment to determine the most appropriate outcome measures, goals, and treatment strategies for strength training and aerobic exercise for patients with multiple co-morbidities, including long COVID. Through case studies, learners will gain an understanding of how to use clinical reasoning when treating patients with multiple chronic conditions.
