Instructor: Mary Sue Green, Ph.D., LMFT-S
Mary Sue Green earned her Ph.D. in human development and family studies from Iowa State University. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Supervisor. She works full-time as a substance abuse counselor for Helen Farabee Centers, is the owner of Room to Grow: Therapy, Supervision, Consultation, PLLC, and teaches as an adjunct professor for Capella Universityโs Marriage and Family Counseling and Therapy program. She has received grant funding and published articles in peer-reviewed journals on diversity issues, mentoring, therapist self-awareness, sexuality, and infidelity. She has presented at state and national conferences on ethics, substance abuse, sexual orientation and gender identity, supervision, and working with same-sex couples.
Staff Writer: Edward Bartels, RN, BSN, MICN
Ed has 30 plus years of nursing experience with clinical roles in trauma, emergency, critical care, skilled nursing, behavioral health, occupational health, home care, and is a certified clinical nursing instructor in North Carolina. Ed served as Director of Nursing for rural emergency services and physician practices. Ed earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. Ed retired from the U.S. Coast Guard with 34 years served.
